FCSA CODE OF CONDUCT

PLAYERS:

  • Make every reasonable effort to attend all games and practices.  If unable for any reason, please contact your coach in advance whenever possible.
  • Be punctual & ready to take the field by the time practice/game starts, properly equipped/dressed.
  • Exhibit good sportsmanship and fair play for all games and practices.
  • Understand the rules of the game and play within them.
  • No intentional foul or rough play will be tolerated.
  • Players will not argue with the referees, coaches, fans, or other players.
  • Cooperate and work with your coach and fellow teammates.
  • No profanity, taunting or trash talking before, during or after a game/practice.
  • Be respectful to teammates, coaches, referees, opponents and parents/fans.
  • Always leave the fields the same or better than when you arrived, picking up bottles/trash.
  • Be gracious in victory and dignified in defeat.

 

PARENTS/FANS:

  • Parents and fans are to sit on the side opposite the team.
    • Please do not come on the team’s side during a game or practice unless asked.
    • This area is reserved for players/coaches/referees.
  • Be punctual dropping off/picking up players to practices and games.
    • Child should arrive prior to start time, appropriately dressed & ready to play.
    • All coaches are volunteering their time.  Please be respectful of this and pick up your child promptly at the end all practices/games.  In case of inclement weather (thunder/lightening), please return immediately to the field to pick up your player. 
  • Be positive on the field: do not yell out negative comments to players (even if it’s your child), referees, coaches, opponents or other fans.
  • Be a role model for the children and show them good sportsmanship.
  • Be gracious in victory and dignified in defeat.
  • No profanity, taunting or trash talking before, during or after a game/practice.
  • If you have an unresolved problem with a coach please see one of the Head of Coaches.

    • If your problem is still unresolved, please send a written statement to the board of FCSA.
  • Do not bring pets to the soccer fields.
  • Do not criticize other players, coaches, or the referees in front of you children or other players.
  • Do not argue with referees.  They will miss calls from time to time and make mistakes.  
    • Many of our referees are in high school and this is a learning experience. 
    • Arguing or yelling with referees will not be tolerated.
  • Always leave the fields the same or better than when you arrived, picking up bottles/trash.

 

COACHES:

  • Encourage every player to do their best.  Give them positive instruction at all times.
  • Treat every player fairly. Players MUST play ½ of the time they are present for games. 
  • Do not tolerate overly aggressive, illegal or foul play from players.
  • No profanity, taunting or trash talking before, during or after a game/practice.
  • Do not argue with the referees. 
    • If you have a complaint about a referee, please address it with Stefanie Dillingham or Rob King, Head of Refs.
    • Remember to set an example in front of your players.
  • Be gracious in victory and dignified in defeat.
  • Know and understand the rules of the game and teach them to your players.
  • Be a positive role model, exhibit fair play and sportsmanship during all games and practices.
  • Treat players, opponents, other coaches, referees, parents and fans with respect.
  • Please make sure your team cleans up their area every time you are at the fields.

 

**No alcohol or illegal drug is permitted on the premises.  Smoking is not allowed on the fields.
